Protected from the heat and the rugged badlands terrain, Express Dig Experience provides a unique indoor opportunity to uncover real fossils using palaeontological tools..


Please Note:

  • Children under 12 MUST be accompanied by a paid adult registered in the program.
  • Participants must be at least 5 years old, due to the age-specific program content and the use of tools. Children under 5 are not allowed in the room.
  • This program takes place in an indoor lab and involves the use of handheld tools. Digging can be messy and dusty. There are sinks in the room for washing up. We use air purifiers to remove the dust. Eye protection is provided and required when digging.
  • The room is accessible for mobility devices less than 81 cm (31 inches) wide (the width of the lab door).
  • The height of the worktops on the dig tables is 91.5 cm (36 inches). The distance from the floor to the underside of each worktop is 68.5 cm (27 inches).
  • Due to the dig table dimensions, standing or use of a high-backed raised chair (available upon request) may be required to enable full participation in this program.

Spring 2025 (May 17 – June 22; weekends and holiday Mondays only): 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m.
Summer 2025 (June 27 – August 31; daily): 2:30 p.m., 4:15 p.m.
Fall 2025 (September 1 – October 13; weekends and holiday Mondays only): 1:45 p.m.
